ALETA ST. JAMES

Aleta St. James is a staple of the Big Apple.

Her expertise as an energy healer and life coach has helped many in the city and in the entertainment industry.

During my research, I couldn’t help but smile. Thus far, Aleta St. James’ has had an extraordinary life. She’s hobnobbed with celebrities, studied with gurus, and at fifty-seven, gave birth to twins. Aleta St. James is clearly a force of nature.

I must say, St. James was actually quite fun to interview. She has a certain, je ne sais quo about her.

When I spoke with her, the very first question I asked was in reference to her name. Aleta, it’s quite lovely. I had to ask its origin.

She shares with me that in Hebrew, it means,

“One who opens the door.”

In Spanish, it means,

“Little wing.”

How did I miss that? I know Spanish, and indeed it does mean that. How precious.

Aleta's name suits her well, as she does facilitate people opening doors that have been closed for so very long. She helps her clients heal from traumatic emotions that keep them from living the life they want.

Ms. St. James informs me, she’s the real deal. She’s been healing and coaching people before the terms energy healer or life coach were even a thing. Aleta is basically one the OGs of the New Thought Movement.

And, I didn’t need any convincing whatsoever. Aleta was clearly on my wavelength during our interview. She continuously kept answering questions before I even asked them. It was quite humorous and delightful, quite frankly, kept the interview running smoothly and efficiently.

Ms. St. James discovered early on that she had a gift. She wasn’t surprised at all. Aleta comes from a mystical family (think of the Disney movie, Encanto).

She shared with me that her father during War World II, would intuitively know, where the injured soldiers were located.

Aleta says,

“He always found the wounded, left behind.”

The desire to help others, clearly runs in her family.

St. James' famous brother, Curtis Sliwa, is founder of the Guardian Angels. For decades, him along with his team of volunteers have kept New York City streets, safe. Sliwa just recently ran for Mayor.

Aleta gushes,

“[I’m] really proud of him.”

One of the reasons, her brother felt inclined to throw his hat into the 2021 New York City mayoral election was because of the uptick in criminal activity that has befallen the beloved city.

I asked Aleta what her thoughts were on how Manhattan has drastically changed so quickly in such a short amount of time.

Aleta reveals to me how she is deeply concerned, however, she remains hopeful.

She says,

“One day, we will have a solution.”

Besides, she doesn’t care how bad it gets, she’s not going anywhere.

Ms. St. James emphatically tells me,

“I love NYC! We need to be here. [New York] feeds your soul.”

She reveals to me how the city is her stomping grounds, her home. And what she mostly appreciates is, the community, the noise, the arts.

Aleta says,

“[New York’s] dynamic, creative people, they make my practice fulfilling.”

One of those individuals that Aleta St. James is referring to, is the lovely Sonja Morgan.

A fixture on The Real Housewives of New York. Sonja Morgan has often relied on Aleta when she’s needed a spiritual tune up.

I went ahead and watched on YouTube the footage that took place awhile back of the emotional healing that Aleta provided Sonja after the passing of her beloved pet.

It was quite touching and endearing. Sonja’s vulnerability was met with the utmost respect and dignity by Aleta.

Aleta St. James tells me that Sonja Morgan is,

“[An] intriguing woman.”

Aleta shares how honored she felt to have provided Ms. Morgan with some emotional release.

Ms. St. James adds,

“I’m glad I was able to do that.”

It was bittersweet watching how St. James mended Ms. Morgan’s heartbreak during their session together.

I couldn’t help but think of my own fur baby and just how much I missed her since her passing in 2019.

I asked Aleta what sage advice does she have for pet owners.

She reveals to me that pet owners shouldn’t fret that their pets have short lives.

Aleta urges pet owners to be present with their animals and,

“Feel their spirit.”

Aleta suggests that pets can often reincarnate and end up crossing paths with their owners again.

She might be on to something. In my household, one of the newest members, the family cat, does behave like my former dog. It’s mysterious to say the least, but unexpectedly comforting.

I have to say, speaking to Aleta I couldn’t help but feel light and enthusiastic. I attribute that to her welcoming energy.

Aleta confides in me how one of her goals is to empower women.

She wants to help women to,

“Not stereotype yourself into a box.”

Aleta adds,

“I have a mission.”

She shares how most of her clients come to her with defeated spirits and at times they don’t have the energy or self esteem to envision a positive outcome in their life. That’s where Aleta comes in.

Aleta makes sure that her clients know, that they can rely on her to assist during an emotional healing.

St. James says,

“I’ll hold their space, believing for my clients. I see, the end result.”

Aleta shares how she is humbled by her amazing success rate. Her returning clients feel like family.

There’s a reason why she has such a loyal following. She has studied and mastered her craft for over four decades.

To strengthen her craft, she's even traveled the world, to meet with other New Age leaders that have shown her different ways to tap into one’s source.

Who would have guessed? Her wonderful career merely blossomed out of necessity.

You see, once upon a time, Ms. St. James used to be part of the acting world in Europe.

Aleta told me that early on in her acting career she was riddled with low self-esteem and often relied on energy healings she’d perform on herself. They’d give her that boost of confidence that she often needed while performing. She shares with me that soon after, word had gotten out amongst her peers, that she was conducting energy healings on herself and others.

Suddenly, celebrities were asking her for consultations.

Aleta figured out, the universe had other plans for her. She happily obliged.

Aleta informs me,

“I’m not slowing down.”

St. James attributes her youthful energy to doing what she loves and not listening to the naysayers.

She stresses the importance of being your authentic self.

Aleta enjoys that people sometimes can’t figure out her age.

She firmly believes her effervescent attitude and positive outlook on life have greatly impacted her physical well-being.

“That’s what keeps you young. [I’m the] prototype of what 74 looks like.”

Aleta strives to practice what she preaches.

“I walk the talk.”

She tells me how most people feel like they aren’t deserving of a better life.

Aleta is here to remind people to let go, and as she puts it,

“Not get stuck in the past.”

And that leads me to my last question. I asked Aleta what words of wisdom did she have for people looking forward to the future in this brand-new year that is, 2022?

She excitingly filled me in that 2022 will be a year to accomplish what you set out to do. There is a lot of magnetic attraction energy out there right now. This is an opportune time to be open to receiving. The love and support will show up.

She emphasizes,

“Go with the flow.”

With all the complexities life has in store for people, Aleta St. James wants people to simply remember to,

“Move your feet to get there.”
